GEORGE BIOGRAPHY
Born in Venice on 10 September 1932 in a high middle-class family, Giorgio Amoretti spent his childhood in the hubbub of the Second World War, raised by a generation of fathers and masters who were not inclined to play or fancy.
His life remains marked by two particularly significant episodes: one is the death of his best friend, which occurred before his eyes during an aerial bombardment while they were going to school. The other, also linked to the school, appears as an apparently innocuous task that Giorgio found himself performing at the age of eight. The theme was entitled “Purposes” and he wrote this:

PURPOSES
“… I would also like to do a lot to get to know the uses and the people who inhabit this land and to give me a precise concept of this world.
AIR
“… I would also like to fly to be able to experience the charm of infinity and get an idea of the greatness and beauty of the sky.
I would like to navigate to see this immense expanse of water that covers more than half the surface of the earth and can see its inhabitants. But unfortunately I am afraid that this dream will never come true.
I would like last to be able to learn to climb the mountains and find myself face to face with the infinite. “
The master’s written comment was as follows:
“These are fantastic desires, not serious intentions. Do it again! “
His whole life will be a successful attempt to oppose that “REFUSE!” And, in fact, he realizes his childish intentions one by one.
